Kory Ouellette was reportedly injured when a fence pole got here crashing by way of his windshield.

A 20-year-old man died Sunday night in a single-car crash in Salem, police stated. 

The Salem Police Division stated officers responded to the intense crash on Puritan Highway round 6:18 p.m. Video from the scene captured by WCVB reveals an SUV that had apparently struck a fence in entrance of a house. A big gap is seen within the automobile’s windshield. 

Police stated the motive force, Salem resident Kory Ouellette, died from his accidents.

A witness, dwelling enchancment employee Vinny Valenti, informed NBC10 Boston he was working close by when he heard the crash.

“I ran out and there was an entire 12-foot pole, the highest of the fence, it went by way of the windshield, by way of his neck and out the again window,” Valenti informed the information outlet, an outline corroborated by police scanner recordings posted on Broadcastify. 

He stated he tried calling Ouellette’s household however couldn’t unlock the motive force’s cellphone, so he sat within the passenger seat and held Ouellette’s hand till an ambulance arrived, in accordance with NBC10.
