The Caribbean American Carnival returned to Boston on Saturday.

The competition occurred in Roxbury and Dorchester from 6 a.m. to eight p.m. and started with the Jou’vert Band at at Talbot Avenue and Helen Road. At 1 p.m. Mayor Michelle Wu hosted a ribbon slicing ceremony.

Regardless of the joyous celebration, eight individuals had been shot and two had been hospitalized after gunfire erupted close to the festivities. Two individuals had been arrested in reference to the incident, in addition to plenty of different people on unrelated gun expenses.
